City of New Bedford

Our team, previously as SunEdison’s C&I division, developed a 4.1 MW ground mount solar project for the City of New Bedford in Massachusetts. The project, which was completed in 2015, offsets over 7 million pounds of carbon dioxide equivalent.

The solar facility in the New Bedford Business Park supplies the City of New Bedford and Cape Cod Community College with clean and affordable energy. The City of New Bedford’s achievements in implementing a comprehensive renewable energy strategy have cemented its place as a state and national leader.

The City purchases the solar energy through a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The PPA includes operations and maintenance at no additional charge.
