Dr. Ruben Fontes sets ForeFront Power’s strategic direction and leads its executive team as the company scales its portfolio of commercial, industrial, and community solar and storage solutions. As Chief Executive Officer, he brings decades of energy industry experience and leadership to ForeFront Power with expertise spanning strategy, operations, construction, planning, and development with firms such as Swinerton Renewable Energy, Chevron, and Ameresco. Previously, Fontes served in several senior leadership roles, including President of Rockland Renewable Ventures, where he oversaw origination and development activities for utility-scale solar, storage, and wind projects across the country. His record of success and strategic vision make him an ideal fit to lead ForeFront Power through ts current phase of growth and development.
Fontes holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership and an MBA in Business Administration from the University of San Diego and a bachelor's degree from Columbia University.
Katsu Nishida is a senior executive in the energy and infrastructure sector, focused on developing long-lasting businesses that support the creation of a sustainable society. As Deputy CEO of ForeFront Power, Nishida works with the company’s Board of Directors to enable disciplined growth and long-term value creation, leverages parent company Mitsui & Co. to develop new product lines and strategic partnerships, and drives operational excellence as the company scales.
Prior to ForeFront Power, Nishida served as CEO of MyPower Corp., an affiliate of Mitsui in the United States, where he was responsible for business development, new investments, and portfolio management of Mitsui’s energy management businesses in North America, and served on the board of several portfolio companies. Before MyPower, Nishida worked at Mitsui’s headquarters in Tokyo, where he primarily engaged in the development, M&A, and divestment of power generation businesses, as well as strategic planning initiatives.
Kristin Frooshani leads all internal legal efforts at ForeFront Power. She has a decade of energy experience supporting financial transactions, project development, M&A, real estate, and asset management in the US and Mexico. Frooshani is also responsible for corporate governance and compliance matters and serves as corporate secretary of the ForeFront Power Board of Managers.
Frooshani led internal counsel during the acquisition of SunEdison’s C&I division by Mitsui & Co., Ltd., and the creation of ForeFront Power. She has also worked on marquee projects, including pioneering ForeFront Power’s community solar portfolio and leading legal efforts on SunEdison’s first solar project on a Superfund site, Sullivan’s Ledge in Massachusetts. Before ForeFront Power, Frooshani served as Assistant General Counsel, North America Structured and Project Finance, for SunEdison. She holds a bachelor’s degree in pre-law studies from Penn State University and a JD from the Villanova University School of Law.
Rachel McLaughlin is responsible for shaping the commercial strategy behind ForeFront Power’s distributed generation growth. As Chief Commercial Officer, McLaughlin leads policy and regulatory affairs, market entry strategy, site acquisition, project acquisition, energy storage, marketing, and direct sales to C&I customers in the US and Mexico. She has 15 years of energy sector sales and market strategy experience across over nine markets and 600 MW of distributed generation capacity.
Previously, McLaughlin directed the company’s sales efforts in Illinois and in community solar markets nationwide. She joined the ForeFront Power team from SunEdison, where she oversaw the company’s engagements with the non-retail Fortune 1000. She is a Fulbright Fellow and holds a B.A. in Public Policy Studies from Duke University.
Bryan Eckstein leads the project finance and corporate development teams at ForeFront Power. As CFO, he oversees strategic innovation initiatives for the business, including M&A activity and organic growth, spanning new revenue models – such as the company’s market-leading community solar program – to emerging technology offerings. He is also responsible for evaluating and structuring the long-term performance of contracted assets, from origination until closing with investors and other sources of capital.
Eckstein has 16 years of experience developing market-based clean energy solutions, delivering more than 500 MW of solar PV and battery storage development and financing, including previous roles at SunEdison and Recurrent Energy. Earlier, he designed and implemented energy, water, and climate change programs for government and international bodies, including the World Bank, the UNFCCC Secretariat, and the U.S. EPA. He holds an MBA and a Master of Environmental Management degree from Yale University, as well as a B.A. in Urban and Environmental Planning and Economics from the University of Virginia.
As SVP of Operations, Nate Skon leads asset management, supply chain, and new operating partnerships, ensuring the company’s growing fleet of solar, storage, and microgrid assets perform reliably over the long term Skon has built a best-in-class asset management function at ForeFront Power, achieving 99% performance in 2023 while scaling assets under management to over 200 solar, storage, and microgrid assets. He has forged three strategic partnerships yielding lower levelized cost of electricity for ForeFront’s fleet – enabling a leadership role in innovative product offerings like EV charging infrastructure.
Skon’s 15-year career spans the development, finance, and operations of 5+ GW in 15 countries across residential, C&I, and utility-scale assets at SunPower, Solar Power Partners (bought by NRG), SunEdison, and ForeFront Power. Nate holds an MBA with honors from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Wisconsin.
Nate Roberts oversees the national behind-the-meter space, developing strategies for the engineering, procurement, and construction of projects to ensure implementation and commercial operation. He supervises all pre-construction activities, including site development, entitlement and permitting, as well as all construction activities, including procurement, installation, start-up and commissioning, and works closely with the project finance team to ensure project transactions occur within forecasted timeframes.
Before ForeFront Power, Roberts served as Senior Manager of the distributed generation, public and municipal market space, for the Pacific West region at SunEdison, where he helpeddevelop and implement over 200 MW across more than 300 solar and solar plus storage projects. Prior to SunEdison, Robertsserved as Project Manager for Blue Oak Energy and Enfinity America Corp. Before entering the renewable energy industry, he held project management, construction management, and estimating positions for a commercial general contractor. Roberts is LEED AP certified and holds a bachelor’s degree n criminal justice from San Diego State University. He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, having served as an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army.
Casey Miller is responsible for the execution and delivery of the company’s renewable energy project portfolio. In this role, he leads cross-functional teams responsible for moving projects from late-stage development through construction, commissioning, and into long-term operation and maintenance, ensuring that distributed solar and storage assets are delivered safely, on schedule, and on budget for commercial, industrial, and public sector customers across the U.S.
Miller has more than 20 years of experience in the solar industry, delivering hundreds of distributed solar and storage projects ranging from 100 kW to 20MW, with a consistent focus on quality, performance, and regulatory compliance. Prior to ForeFront Power, he held senior project management roles at SunEdison and SPG Solar. Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Studies from the University of California, Davis, and a Construction Management credential from UC Berkeley.
Matt Grossman leads ForeFront Power’s front-of-the-meter team, which covers origination, development, and M&A for the company’s grid-connected solar and storage distributed generation portfolio. He works closely with the development, finance, and legal teams to bring projects from early-stage origination through construction and long-term operation.
Throughout his career, Grossman has led the origination, development, and M&A processes for more than 250 MW of community solar projects that are now operational across multiple U.S. markets. Before joining ForeFront Power, he worked as a sales manager and analyst at SunEdison. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Computer Science from Middlebury College.
Misty Chioffe leads the company’s marketing, communications, information technology, and human resources functions at ForeFront Power. She is responsible for strengthening the ForeFront Power brand, driving organizational effectiveness, and supporting business growth through strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and digital transformation, partnering closely with the executive team to align brand, talent, and technology strategy with the company’s growth objectives.
With more than 20 years of experience in renewable energy, marketing, business development, and operational leadership, Chioffe has held senior roles across the solar industry, helping organizations accelerate growth, strengthen customer engagement, and bring innovative energy solutions to market.
Chioffe holds an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
